Project details
A communications class at the University of Washington was learning about deliberative democracy and used Zilino for a participatory budgeting exercise. During this one-week assignment, the group of 70 students first worked in small groups to develop five budget proposals. They then deliberated to weigh the pros and cons of each proposal. Following a final in-person presentation and debate in the classroom, the students voted to select their preferred proposal: a $60 donation to the "Help the Animals Fund" in support of the Seattle Animal Shelter.
